After suffering in silence for a week, Job finally speaks. He laments the day he was born. His sentiments are very similar to those of the prophet Jeremiah.
Job was a prominent person. He was godly and wealthy. But one day he lost everything. His best friends say it was his own fault.
Job admits he knows very little. The LORD restores Job, and gives him twice as much as before. He lives to a ripe old age.
The LORD discusses Leviathan. It is vicious. It cannot be captured or tamed. And it has awesome anatomy.
Job has learned to be silent in the presence of God. Out of a whirlwind, the LORD continues to answer Job.
The LORD continues to answer Job, portraying the majesty of animals.
The LORD arrives in the midst of a storm. He answers Job. He portrays the majesty of the earth, the sky, stars and clouds, and lions and ravens.
Elihu continues to speak arrogantly. He is condemning Job.
Elihu is very arrogant. He says he is “perfect” in knowledge. He repeats the same old theologies we know to be false.
